NHL Gambling: Vancouver Canucks Over Florida Panthers 06-02-2018

Tonight’s NHL gambling bet of the night is the Vancouver Canucks to win on the road against the Florida Panthers.

It’s two bad teams. Which is why the Vancouver Canucks’ NHL gambling line tonight is set at +125. They are dogs simply because they’re on the road. But at +125 its a good return for a team that should win.

vancouver canucks[+125] Record : 25-18-10, Road Record : 11-9-7, Form (Last 5) :

VAN 6-2 LAK VAN 0-4 BUF VAN 4-3- COL VAN 4-2 CHI VAN 2-4 TBL

FLA 6-1 DAL FLA 2-4 WAS FLA 4-1 NYI FLA 4-2 BUF FLA 3-2 DET

Look, both the Vancouver Canucks and the Florida Panthers are bad. Neither is in a playoff position. Florida is ten points out while the Canucks sit 13 points from the post-season.

While it’s not impossible for the Panthers to put a stretch of good resutls together, it’s unlikely.

Only the New York Islanders allow more shots against in the league. That wouldn’t be so bad if the Panthers had an NHL calibre goaltender in nets. But both Roberto Luongo and James Reimer are out with lower-body injuries. Which has left rookie Harri Sateri between the pipes. With a 3-3-0 record and 3.19 GAA and 0.908 SV% he’s been very OK.

To be fair it’s not like Jakob Markstrom has been much better for the Canucks. His 15-17-5 record with a 2.79GAA and 0.907SV% is only fractionally better than the rookies on the other side of the ice.

But again, the Canucks do a great job at limitting chances against. Only the Vegas Golden Knights allow fewer shots against than the Canucks.

The combination of fewer chances for and the greater shots against will be enough for Calder runner-up Brock Boeser and his team to run out of Florida with the two points.

NHL Gambling: Bet Of The Night Anaheim Ducks Over Toronto Maple Leafs

Our NHL gambling bet of the night rolls into it’s second month. We’re just under 60% accurate with our picks. Tonight we take the road dog in the Anaheim Ducks vs Toronto Maple Leafs tilt.

February is here and that means we’re into the second month of us keeping track of our NHL gambling bet of the nights. So far we ain’t that bad with a 56% accuracy rating. The 60% plateau is our goal. Tonight we how to get closer with the Anaheim Ducks.

In case you weren’t aware our bets of the night aren’t just any bet. We only pick dogs. There ain’t no easy favored -200 lines here. Anything north of EVEN is how the bet of the night’s work. Which makes that 56% accuracy far more impressive.

Outside of a recent blip against the Boston Bruins the Toronto Maple Leafs have been flawless. In their last five they’ve gone 4-1-0 and outscored their opponents 17-7.

Meanwhile the Anaheim Ducks have been ok with a 3-1-1 record. Keeping them within reach of a playoff spot in the western conference by just a single point.

Just looking at records and even current form the Maple Leafs should be a lock for this game. Until you think of the type of team the Leafs are, and the type of team the Ducks are. The best counter for a shifty quick team is one that can physically force you to play the style of game you want to play.

The Ducks are a big physical team. One that can force the Leafs to keep to the outside and limit the number of chances they generate. Which is what Boston has been doing to the rest of the league ever since they got healthy.

The Leafs are going to have a difficult time generate the chances they typically need in order to dominate a game. And look the Leafs aren’t a great defensive team. When that offense isn’t getting the looks they need the rest of the team struggles.

NHL Gambling: Bet of the Night Ottawa Senators Over Carolina Hurricanes 30-01-2018

We’re going to continue our winning ways with our NHL gambling bet of the night by taking the Ottawa Senators over the Carolina Hurricanes. Yeah. That’s right. The Senators will win.

Back from the All-Star break and looking to continue our winning way todays NHL gambling bet of the night will feature the Ottawa Senators winning over the Carolina Hurricanes. On the road.

I know. I know. The Ottawa Senators are absolute garbage right now. But with a new player they could get a nice emotional bounce.

Bet Of The Night

Ottawa Senators[+165] Record : 15-23-9, Road Record : 6-12-4, Form (Last 5) :

OTT 1-4 STL OTT 3-4 TOR OTT 1-3 MIN OTT 0-3 STL OTT 2-3 BOS

CAR 1-4 CGY CAR 3-1 DET CAR 1-5 VGK CAR 1-3 PIT CAR 6-5 MTL

The Senators are bad. There’s no two questions about it. And with Mark Stone on IR there’s no way the Sens can get back to form. As in the form that saw the Ottawa Senators a goal away from the Stanley Cup finals a season ago.

But the Senators aren’t six losses in a row bad. They just aren’t.

For that to happen there has to be a collective breakdown to happen. Which is exactly what is happening with the Senators right now. Craig Anderson has been a shadow of his regular self. Matt Duchene is far from what the Senators thought they were getting. And Erik Karlsson, who is still having a good year, but he isn’t having a Norris year (although he isn’t too far off).

But even with all that the Senators have to win games, some games, not a tone. And this is one of them. Why?

The Carolina Hurricanes aren’t much better either. After a decent December the Carolina Hurricanes haven’t been able to continue that run in January. Over their last five games they’ve only put up four points and an 18-12 goal differential.

While not as bad as the Senators, the Hurricanes aren’t much better. They certainly don’t have the same potential as the Senators. And in no way have the same skill ceiling. Scott Darling hasn’t been the knock out success the Hurricanes thought he’d be. Leaving Cam Ward to do the heavy lifting in goal. Not a recipe for success.

There’s no advanced metrics that indicated the Sens will win tonight. But at +165 there’s a good incentive on a game that should be a lot closer than the line indicates. And so we’re biting hook-line-and-sinker.

2018 NHL All-Star Game: Snowmaggedon Bet

There isn’t any NHL regular season action this week. So instead we’re going to place a bet on what division will win the 2018 NHL All-Star Game.

On account of the 2018 NHL All-Star game we couldn’t pick a Lock, Dog, Parlay like we normally do. Instead, we all took a division in this Sunday’s game. If we win, bragging rights. If we lose we’re gonna be sent out in the cold.

There are only three of us, but four divisions in the NHL. So each one of us took a division. (Darcy wasn’t around so we gave him one for him).

Harper | Atlantic Division

AKA: The Tampa Bay Lightning and a bunch of other players that are playing well this year).

Mitch | Metropolitan Division

The division where it’s impossible to figure out if all the teams are really good, or just OK. Also its the division with his Islanders so there’s probably a little bias there.

Darcy | Pacific Division

We don’t know why we gave him the Pacific Division over the Central. Maybe its so he has to cheer for the Golden Knights who he famously stated would win two games in December. They won eleven. Including a seven-game unbeaten run to end the month.

That leaves the Central Division. If the Central Division wins the tournament we all agreed (Darcy didn’t but he will) to sit in snow up to our armpits and declare the Central the best of them all.

We’ll film it. Post it on our YouTube channel and across all of our social media platforms for all to see.

So if any of our picks win, we can stay nice and warm. But if P.K.Subban and his band of All-Stars can win the entire thing we gonna get real cold.

NHL Gambling: Bet of The Night New York Islanders Over Vegas Golden Knights

Tonight’s NHL gambling bet of the night is supposed to get us back on winning ways after dropping the last two. And we’re picking the Vegas Golden Knights to lose at home.

Why bet against the Vegas Golden Knights at home? Something they’ve done but four times this season? Twice in regulation and twice in overtime. Why? And against the worst defense in the league at that?

Because when Vegas was setting the line they were channelling their inner New York Islanders fan; doubt and uncertainty. That’s the life of an Islanders fan. Because as you’ll see the Isles have a dualistic persona on the ice.

Bet Of The Night

new york islanders[+165] Record : 24-20-5, Road Record : 1113-2, Form (Last 5) :

NYI 5-4 MTL NYI 1-4 NJD NYI 2-5 BOS NYI 7-3 CHI NYI 2-3 ARI

VGK 0-1 NAS VGK 4-1 TBL VGK 3-4 FLA VGK 5-1 CAR VGK 6-3 CBJ

The New York Islanders have THE best offence in the NHL at the moment. Well, actually the Islanders are tied with the Tampa Bay Lightning at 170 goals for. With John Tavares, Josh Bailey, Anders Lee and Mathew Barzal, the Islanders have a potent forward core. Their undoing is when you look at their backend.

The Isles have allowed the most goals against the league. Not even the Arizona Coyotes are worse. And they are without question the worst team in the NHL.

So why pick the New York Islanders is they are anything but consistent against the most consistent team in the NHL at the moment? Because the Islanders are pure chaos.

Gallant is clearly going to set up his team to frustrate the Islanders. He’s going to limit that potent offense and take the game to the shaky Islanders defense on the break. And it could work. That certainly plays into the Islanders weaknesses. The only issue is that the Islanders are already frustrated.

After a 3-2 OT loss to the Coyotes a few days before where the Isles fell flat in the first period, they’ll want to bounce back. The Isles are going to throw everything at the Golden Knights in the opening frame. And Gallant’s boys better hope their ready.

We don’t think they will. The Golden Knights will fall into a whole from the start that they just won’t be able to get themselves out of. Giving them their third regulation loss of the season.
