It’s done. After last nights NHL scores came in, we’ve got ourselves a hat trick. Our third bet of the night in a row came through.
For the third night in a row, NHL scores have gone the way we expected them to go. Well, at least when it comes to the Bet of The Night. A slew of underdogs won. Thank God for preseason.
For September 24th, we picked the Florida Panthers to take the game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. And sure enough, they did just that. With a 4-2 win against their Florida rivals.
The Panthers, featuring a vet heavy squad after a number of cuts that afternoon took it to the vet light Lightning who still had a number of rookies on the roster. An advantage limited only to training camp season. Come opening day the advantage won’t be so clear.
NSH (+105) 5 @ 3 CBJ (-130)
FLA (+135) 4 @ 2 TBL (-165) Bet of The Night
MIN (-120) 1 @ 5 COL (EVEN)
VGK (+130) 4 @ 2 ANA (-160)
STL (+140) 4 @ 1 PIT (-170) Best Return
The best return was the St Louis Blues against the Penguins. Both teams are stuck in that narrative. The Blues can’t stop winning and the Pens can’t stop losing. Thankfully for the Pens it’s only the preseason, so who cares.
TBut the Blues will find real solace in the fact that they’re still winning. I for one had them pegged as a team on the downfall. And with Dallas making big jumps with their acquisitions I thought the Blues might not make the playoffs.
That’s still possible, but the narrative around the team, at least for myself, has shifted.
Bet of the Night
Two lines are missing. Both the New Jersey Devils games have no lines due to it being a split squad. Bookies don’t know how to treat these and so they just stay away. Fair enough.
What’s left is the following.
CHI (-110) @ BOS (-110)
PHI (EVEN) @ NYR (-120)
MTL (+120) @ TOR (-145) Bet of The Night
PIT (-105) @ DET (-115)
CGY (+135) @ WPG (-160)
COL (+165) @ DAL (-190)
CAR (+130) @ EDM (-155)
ANA (-135) @ ARI (+110)
I’m tempted by the Colorado line at +165, but I just can’t bring myself to do it today. It looks like the Stars are sending out all of their big guns again. Benn, Seguin, Radulov and Bishop are all to play in Dallas today.
My eye turns to Montreal as a road dog in Toronto. Montreal is tossing out all of their own offensive weapons for their Atlantic Rival. So will man mountain Shea Weber. It’s as close to their best team without the likes of Carey Price in net.
That’s enough for me to think that Montréal will finally get a preseason ‘W’ tonight. Yeah. They’re 0-4-0 so far. Don’t tell Harper.
