The 2017 NHL Preseason continues to roll with a ton of NHL gambling for you to sink your teeth into!
The 2017 NHL preseason has begun! It’s great to speculate over incredibly meaningless games. Like what does the Ottawa Senators 6-1 drubbing of the Toronto Maple Leafs mean?
It’s clear that the contingent of Leafs at the CTC wasn’t anywhere near the squad that played the next day at the ACC. Mathews and Nylander were on the squad and from there the talent falls off a cliff. Especially in net, where Curtin McElhinney and Gareth Sparks split time.
So why am I sitting here writing this and flipping between the Ottawa/Toronto game and the Detroit/Boston game? NHL gambling baby. I got some cheddar on both games.
There’s some real value in preseason games. Lineups are full of rookies that will make mistakes. Goalies are changed indiscriminate of the score. And coaches don’t care about the scoreline (although Doug Weight didn’t seem to get the memo).

Just look at the Bodog odds for Wednesday September 20th’s slew of NHL preseason games:
DET (+170) @ PIT (-205)
NJD (+160) @ NYR (-200) Bet of the night
TBL (-115) @ CAR (-105)
WSH (-110) @ MTL (-110)
CBJ (+115) @ STL (-140)
EDM (-105) @ WPG (-115)
VAN(+165) @ CGY (-195)
ARI (+165) @ ANA (-195)
*Missing is NYI and PHI which is a split-squad game.
The New Jersey Devils at +160 is a good bet for tomorrow. Look, we all know that the Devils weren’t good last season. But they only got better this offseason. The addition of Marcus Johanssen and Nico Hischier to the core of Taylor Hall and Corey Schneider only makes this team better. Now if only they could add some defense.
Skjei-Shattenkirk; Pedrie-Smith; Staal-Gilmour
In goal; Lundqvist/Georgiev

Sure the Rangers are playing Henrik Lundqvist tomorrow, but he just hasn’t been right since last season. His 0.910 SV% and 2.74 GAA are his worst stats ever in his career. And at 35-years-old, its probably a sign of things to come.
What’s your bet of the night for September 20th, 2017?
